Siemens Ruggedcom RSL910 VDSL Modem

Designed to operate reliably over telephone-grade cables in harsh environments, the Siemens RuggedCom family of EoVDSL Ethernet switches provide high bandwidth for delivering information over existing copper wires.

The RUGGEDCOM RSL910 is a rugged 10-port managed Ethernet switch, supporting Ethernet over VDSL2 (EoVDSL2) and allowing up to 2.9 km LAN segments over telephone-grade cable at up to 85 Mbps with optional SFP slots supporting Gigabit and Fast Ethernet.

With the RUGGEDCOM RSL910 it is possible to reuse existing copper cabling to enable rail and road operators to achieve broadband speeds between equipment cabinets. This is a cost efficient way of converting legacy systems into modern Ethernet-based applications which allow reliable, low latency connectivity to control centers.

The RUGGEDCOM RSL910 combines EoVDSL2 and SFP-slots in the same device for a migration path from legacy 2-wire copper cabling to high speed fiber optic or other advanced
network topologies.

Features include:

  •  6 Fast Ethernet ports,
  • 2 SFP-Slots supporting Gigabit and Fast Ethernet
  • 2 EoVDSL2 uplinks.
