The CSE Uniserve Slip Energy Recover System (SER) is designed and manufactured to CSE Uniserve’s specification in Switzerland, to the IEC61850 family of standards for speed control of wound rotor induction motors. Typical applications include mills, crushers, fans and pumps.  Designed and manufactured in Europe to CSE Uniserve’s specifications, offers the ultimate in single or dual motor speed control.  

  • Active Power Factor control – Target is unity for the Stator. Recovery circuit Active VAR Generation
  • Our SER will operate the motor above synchronous speed and without a synchronous speed deadband.
  • Constant Torque, even at above synchronous speeds – i.e. Maximum motor shaft power is proportional to motor speed 
  • Bi-directional transfer to LRS under controlled or SER trip conditions. This ensures the plant will keep running on LRS and is achieved by the ability of our LRS to track the operation of the SER. 
  • This tie up provides near bump-less transfers.
  • Running current headroom and overload currents can be tailored to the project specification
  • Control is via proprietary main controller – no PLC is used or required
  • Our standard SER is rated at IP54, fully cooled via liquid, with no need for air through flow fans filters etc
  • IGBT Liquid to Air heat-exchange platform (transfers heat to outside meaning almost no effect on switch room air-conditioning)
  • Extremely small footprint and no rear access required – Cabinets only 800mm deep and 1900mm high.
  • Wide ambient operating temperature range (minus 40°C to +50°C) available

The SER is fully cooled via liquid, eliminating the need for air through systems, near bump-less transfers are achieved and even at above synchronous speeds, constant torque is possible. This unit has an extremely small footprint, it comes with active power factor control and there is no synchronous speed deadband. In addition to this, there is no requirement for PLC seeing as the proprietary main controller facilitates control. It has been designed for use with mills, crushers, fans and pumps.

    As the motor is started via Liquid Resistance Starter, the max rotor voltage is determined by the delta speed range, about synchronous, required for the application. Typically for SAG Mill or Ball Mill applications, a maximum of 15% delta speed is required and is usually expressed as 85%-110% of synchronous speed. This therefore highlights that our SER can operate the motor above synchronous speed.
